Box Pleat Curtains โ€” Common Questions

Flat, rectangular pleats that sit side by side across the top of the curtain, with no gathering between them โ€” crisp, tailored and architectural. They read as very modern in a plain fabric and very smart in a stripe or check.

Because each pleat folds a full width of fabric back on itself, the heading needs 2.5โ€“3ร— fullness โ€” the most of any style. Thatโ€™s what keeps the pleats flat and square rather than pulling open. Itโ€™s worth budgeting for when you compare quotes.

They can hang from a pole, but they sit flattest on a track hidden behind the heading, where the pleats stay perfectly aligned. On a pole, expect a little more movement between the pleats.
