Armchairs in Ireland: What Is in the Range

Thirty-two armchairs, most between 67cm and 97cm wide, so they fit the corner of a living room or the end of a bed without crowding it. Prices run from €590 to €3,470. Almost every chair here is also listed under bedroom chairs, and the same collections continue in our sofas, footstools and vanity chairs.

• Accent chairs in cream and gold: the Lyon Cream (€2,040, in the showroom), Monaco Cream (€2,070), Milano (€1,560), Leora (€1,600), Ecrue Cream (€2,320), Parma (€1,800), Braga (€2,930), Como White with brass frame (€1,700), Pera (€1,500) and Deluxe (€1,180, in the showroom).
• Patterned and coloured accent chairs: the Monaco White damask (€2,430), Asos patterned fabric (€1,500), Ricamo sand (€1,980), Galante beige (€2,320), Senato quilted brown and cream (€2,440), Prestige with bronze base (€1,450) and Torino in anthracite or orange (€590).
• Reading chairs with a high or winged back: the Dubai high-back swivel (€800) and the Ecrue Luxury Tan wingback (€2,950).
• Swivel and rocking chairs: the Dubai and Sapphire swivel armchairs (€800 each), the Parma on a dark gold swivel base, and the Miranda rocking armchair in grey or cream (€740).

Accent Chairs for the Living Room

An accent chair earns its place by contrasting with the sofa rather than matching it. The cream and gold chairs do this against a grey or navy sofa; the Torino orange, the Monaco damask and the Asos pattern do it against a cream one. If you already own one of our sofas, the Lyon, Parma, Casto, Ecrue, Monaco, Milano, Leora and Galante armchairs come from the same collections as the fabric sofas, so the frame finish and fabric family are the same. Several come with a matching cushion: the Milano with a zebra print, the Leora with a leopard print, the Ricamo, Prestige and Pera with a plain one.

Reading Chairs and High-Back Armchairs

For a reading corner you want a back that supports your head and a seat deep enough to tuck your feet up. The Dubai has a high backrest on a 360-degree swivel base, so it turns to the window or the room. The Ecrue Luxury Tan is a wingback on black legs with gold accents, built on a plywood frame. The Miranda rocking armchair (94cm x 103cm x 90cm) adds a gentle rocking motion and comes in grey or cream, with a fixed-base version at €650 if you prefer a stable seat. Swivel, Rocking and Recliner Armchairs

The Sapphire and Dubai swivel armchairs are the entry point at €800 and both are made to order in your fabric and colour. The Perge reclines at both the back and the legs; the Pristine has a reclining footrest; both are customisable in fabric. The Medical armchair reclines by remote control with ergonomic cushioning and is on the showroom floor to try. The recliner chairs match the recliner sofas of the same name in our recliner sofa range, so a full suite is available.

Armchair Sizes

Most chairs here are 67cm to 90cm wide and 74cm to 103cm deep, with seat backs between 66cm and 101cm high. The most compact are the Monaco chairs at 67cm wide and 76cm deep; the largest are the Miranda at 94cm x 103cm and the Casto at 77cm x 99cm. Allow about 30cm of clear floor at each side of a chair and 45cm in front of it if it will be used every day.

Delivery, Installation and Warranty

We deliver nationwide. In-stock armchairs are delivered within 7 to 14 working days; made-to-order chairs take about 12 to 16 weeks, confirmed when you order. A 50% deposit secures a made-to-order chair and the balance is paid before delivery. All furniture carries a two-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. What is the difference between an armchair and an accent chair?

An armchair is any single upholstered chair with arms. An accent chair is an armchair chosen to stand out from the sofa in colour, pattern or shape. Every chair on this page is an armchair; the cream and gold, patterned and coloured groups above are the ones most often bought as accent chairs.

Which armchairs can be made in my own fabric?

The Sapphire, Dubai, Perge and Pristine are fully customisable in fabric and colour, and the Lugano comes in a choice of finishes. The collection chairs (Lyon, Parma, Casto, Ecrue and the rest) are supplied in the fabric shown.

Can I see the armchairs before I order?

The Lyon Cream, Deluxe, Lugano and Medical armchairs are in our Portlaoise showroom, open Tuesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, and we keep fabric swatches for the made-to-order chairs.
