Made to Measure French Pleat Curtains

French pleat (pinch pleat) curtains use 2โ€“2.5x fullness for their tailored triple pleats, and hang from rings on a pole or a track. We hand-sew every pleat, in your choice of fabric and lining. Compare all six headings on our made to measure curtains page, browse fabrics by colour, and measure in minutes with the measuring guide.

French Pleat Curtains โ€” Common Questions

Nothing โ€” theyโ€™re two names for the same heading: groups of three pleats pinched together at the top, hand-sewn for a tailored, formal finish. Youโ€™ll also see it called โ€œtriple pleatโ€.

Ready made French pleat curtains exist, but they come in a few fixed sizes and the pleats are machine-set. Ours are made to your exact width and drop with each pleat hand-sewn, so the fullness is right for your window rather than a standard one โ€” which is what makes the heading look expensive rather than ordinary.

Either. On a pole they hang from rings, which shows the pleats off and suits traditional rooms; on a track they hook on discreetly for a cleaner line. If thereโ€™s a pelmet, a track is the usual choice.

Sitting rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where you want a formal, hotel-style finish. They look best in mid-to-heavy fabrics that hold the pleat โ€” velvets, lined cottons and textured weaves.

How Much Do French Pleat Curtains Cost?

Every pair is quoted individually โ€” the price depends on your window size, fabric and lining. Fabric prices are published openly per metre (most of the range is โ‚ฌ35โ€“โ‚ฌ45 per metre, sale fabrics from โ‚ฌ30), and your written quote is free, itemised and no-obligation.
